This course provides students with the opportunity to review and deepen their understanding of key events, people, and themes in U.S. history. Covering topics from the founding of the nation to contemporary America, students will explore political, social, economic, and cultural developments that have shaped the country. Through engaging lessons, primary source analysis, and critical thinking activities, students will strengthen their historical knowledge and analytical skills.

This course is scheduled for 11:30 am – 2:00 pm on Live Zoom Monday-Thursday. Scholars should plan to spend an additional 1.5 hours daily completing independent, asynchronous work. The estimated total time to complete this course is 56 hours.

Great Hearts Online Arizona Summer School is open to all current and incoming Arizona Great Hearts students. All summer courses include daily, live video instruction M-Th, weekly tutoring opportunities, and access to our Great Hearts curriculum using the online learning platform, Canvas.

Courses will begin June 4th and run through June 30th.

Each course receives 1.0 credits for the summer session. The courses will focus on foundational skills and will serve as credit recovery for semester 1, semester 2, or both. Summer grades will be factored into a student’s overall GPA.

Please Note: There is a 5 student minimum to host a course. If a course has less than 5 students registered, the course may be cancelled and refunded.
