Great Hearts Online Summer School is open to all current and incoming Great Hearts students. All summer courses include daily, live video instruction M-Th, weekly tutoring opportunities, and access to our Great Hearts curriculum using the online learning platform, Canvas.
This course will begin on June 3rd and run through June 30th, during Session 1 (8:00AM-10:30 AM). You can view the session schedule HERE. Please note that all times are listed in Arizona Local Time.

This 6th Grade Latin course introduces students to the beauty, structure, and cultural richness of the Latin language, the foundation of many modern Western languages. Through the study of pronunciation, vocabulary, and basic grammar, scholars begin to understand how Latin conveys meaning with order and precision. Students explore simple Latin words and sentences while encountering the stories, history, and culture of ancient Rome. Instruction emphasizes careful attention, memory, and thoughtful study, helping students recognize the deep connection between Latin and the English language. Through this work, scholars lay a strong foundation for continued Latin study and begin to participate in the great linguistic and cultural tradition that has shaped Western civilization.
