Great Hearts Online Summer School is open to all current and incoming Great Hearts students. All summer courses include daily, live video instruction M-Th, weekly tutoring opportunities, and access to our Great Hearts curriculum using the online learning platform, Canvas.
This course will begin on June 3rd and run through June 30th, during SESSION 2 from 11:30 am- 2:00 pm. You can view the session schedule HERE. Please note that all times are listed in Arizona Local Time.

The area of study in 9th Grade United States History is the development and growth of the United States of America. This course traces the historical progression of the nation from its founding to the present, examining the ideas, principles, and events that have shaped the United States into a modern republic. Through close reading of historical texts, thoughtful discussion, and persuasive writing, scholars will deepen their understanding of the American tradition while sharpening their ability to think critically, reason carefully, and articulate ideas clearly. Instruction is centered on live lectures, primary and secondary source readings, and seminar-style discussions, in which scholars actively engage with the texts and with one another to pursue a fuller understanding of the past.
