Great Hearts Online Summer School is open to all current and incoming Great Hearts students. All summer courses include daily, live video instruction M-Th, weekly tutoring opportunities, and access to our Great Hearts curriculum using the online learning platform, Canvas.
This course will begin on June 3rd and run through June 30th, during Session 2 (1 Hour) (1:00-2:00). You can view the session schedule HERE. Please note that all times are listed in Arizona Local Time.

This course strengthens foundational math skills for scholars completing first grade and preparing to enter second grade. Students will build fluency with addition and subtraction facts, including doubles and doubles plus one, while developing strong number sense through place value understanding of ones, tens, and hundreds. Scholars will explore number bonds to understand part and whole relationships and apply these concepts to addition and subtraction within 50, including making tens and renaming. Instruction also includes skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s, identifying coins and their values, and telling time to the hour and half hour. Through guided practice and problem-solving, students will build accuracy, confidence, and readiness for second grade mathematics.
