Description

This 7th Grade Literature and Composition course strengthens students’ ability to read thoughtfully, write clearly, and engage meaningfully with great works of literature. Through the study of classical myths, drama, novels, and poetry, scholars examine enduring questions of human nature, virtue, and moral choice while developing careful attention to language and meaning. Students cultivate clarity of thought through analytical writing, progressing from structured paragraphs to well-formed essays grounded in textual evidence and sound reasoning. Instruction emphasizes grammar, rhetoric, and logical argument, forming the habits of attentive reading, disciplined thinking, and articulate expression. Through this work, scholars grow in their ability to understand, evaluate, and communicate ideas, preparing them to participate fully in the great literary and intellectual tradition.
