This Grade 7 Mathematics course develops students’ transition from arithmetic to algebraic thinking through the study of proportional reasoning, rational numbers, algebraic expressions, and geometric relationships. Drawing from the Carnegie Learning Texas Math Solution series, scholars strengthen their ability to reason abstractly while building on their prior understanding of number and operations. Through the investigation of ratios, equations, geometry, probability, and real-world applications, students learn to see mathematics as an ordered and intelligible system governed by logical principles. Instruction emphasizes careful reasoning, precision, and the pursuit of mathematical truth, cultivating the habits of mind necessary for success in Algebra I and preparing scholars to recognize the inherent beauty, coherence, and structure of mathematics.
