Great Hearts Online Summer School is open to all current and incoming Great Hearts students. All summer courses include daily, live video instruction M-Th, weekly tutoring opportunities, and access to our Great Hearts curriculum using the online learning platform, Canvas.
This course will begin on June 3rd and run through June 30th, during Session 2 (1 Hour) (11:30-12:30). You can view the session schedule HERE. Please note that all times are listed in Arizona Local Time.

This summer course is designed to prepare rising first-grade scholars for a confident and joyful entry into the study of mathematics. Rooted in the classical tradition, the course emphasizes clarity of thought, careful observation, and mastery through purposeful practice. Using Singapore Math as the foundational curriculum, scholars will develop a strong understanding of number sense through place value, counting, and addition and subtraction, progressing from concrete representations to pictorial models and early abstract reasoning. Daily work cultivates accuracy, fluency, and attentiveness, while activities such as number writing, graph reading, and calendar use connect mathematics to the order and patterns of everyday life. By the end of the course, scholars will be well prepared to engage first-grade mathematics with confidence, discipline, and delight in learning.
